New Challenge at Digital Scrapbook Pages!

Hi everyone!

My name is Malia, and I’m a new designer at Digitals and will be hosting a new monthly challenge!

Every month I’ll pick one of my kits for you to scrap (this month it’s my Pink Champagne kit, available at the incase you want to get a head start), and anyone that posts a layout with my kit will get the add-on kit as a free bonus before it is even available in the store! (Also, throughout the month please feel free to request elements you’d like to see in the add-on and I’ll do my best to include them.)

Not only does everyone that participates get the free add-on, but they will also be entered into a drawing to win my kit for the next month’s challenge!

To kick this challenge off I’m going to run a mini challenge from now through Wednesday August 2nd to see who can “Name This Challenge”. If you have an idea for a name, post it here. The winner will win my Pink Champagne kit to use in the August challenge!

up and running at Digitals!

It's official! My first sample is posted at Digitals and I'm uber excited! Within the next day or so my first two kits should be up! Here's a look at my newest:

My new header

So I finally made an original banner for my web page. What do you think? It's just simple, but I'm so in love with pink and brown! The papers and ribbon are all part of a kit I'm working on. I've been talking with a few sites about selling with them -- I'm hoping to have my kits up at one of them by the end of the week. I can't wait! I've already made my creative team ad -- I'm just waiting to post it!

Newest Kit

Here’s my new kit! I’ve “applied” to or e-mailed a few scrapbook sites to find a place to sell my kits, but I’m still waiting to hear back from them. I’m might just do “Digitals” – but we’ll see, I’m looking for a site with a bigger community to join. Any takers?
Anyhow – love to hear what people think! When I set up shop I’ll be posting that information.

Incase you are here to download my freebie, I need to warn you that it is only made at 200 dpi. I recently found out that in order to print pages they need to be created at 300 dpi, so I’ll be remaking my papers this week and reposting it here shortly.

Today's Layout

Well I finally did a layout with my own kit today. It’s a picture of me, one of my best friends, Kelly, and her boyfriend Dominique. We were on our annual “Kelly’s birthday vacation” to Boston, and spent a day in Newport, Rhode Island at the Newport Mansions. The houses were amazing, but by the time we got there we only had enough time to see two of them.

I’m also working on a purple kit for the “Project Spectrum”’ challenge at DSP. I like making my own papers and elements for color challenges because it gives me some inspiration and direction.

Oh – I just got my work permit to work in Canada yesterday, so now I’m trying to find a job. I can only do temp work for the next few months because of my upcoming wedding, but it looks like I’m going to have some issues finding a job because I don’t speak French. I hope I don’t have to work retail – I really don’t want to work odd hours, but we’ll see.

Scrapbooking freebie!

Here’s my first freebie kit! I’m really excited to hear what people think about it – constructive criticism is always helpful! It is a collection of distressed pink and taupe papers with a few elements. This is my first time zipping a file, so if you run into issues please let me know and I’ll try to fix it.

If you use the kit (which I hope someone does!) I’d love to see your layout so please post a link to your layout in the comments (my layouts are below average at best, so I’d like to see what talented people could do with it – or give me input on how to make it better or more user friendly)

Wedding fiasco!!!

SO yesterday was an interesting day. I received a call around 3:00 from the event planner at the restaurant where I was holding my wedding reception, telling me that the restaurant was closing down! Needless to say, I was frazzled beyond belief! Thankfully I been able to find a new restaurant that can accommodate a party my size, and it actually will probably be even nicer than the original location. This one has a private room with a window that looks out to the Bellagio fountains, which will be very nice.

Hi everyone. Or should I say anyone :)

I’ve never been a big fan of blogging per se. I mean who really wants to read about everything I do or think? But I’ve been trying to get into digital scrapbooking, and it seems that just about everyone has a blog, so I want one too! Besides, now that I’m far away from all of my friends and family, it gives me something to keep me busy.
